How does service relate to learning?

Hmm, well, service can be seen as a teaching tool. Maybe not the most general of teaching, like math or science, but it can teach you many things. By helping others, it teaches you empathy, teamwork, the importance of helping others in need. In the case of what my class will be doing, it can help a person see that what they have should not be taken for granted. It can teach and show a person how a kind helping hand can change a persons situation for the better.
